Benton PUD receives "Innovation in Customer Service" Award

Benton PUD received the Expanding Excellence Award for “Innovation in Customer Service” from the CS Week organization and Electric Light & Power magazine.  The award is given to organizations that have developed an innovative approach to improving customer service. Considerations for the award included complexity, innovation, execution, cost benefits and improved customer service of the project.

Benton PUD was honored with the award for the District’s introduction of Benton PUD e-Bill, a service that offers customers electronic bill presentment and online payment options.  The project was undertaken in an effort to increase customer satisfaction and create operating efficiencies by providing customers with 24/7 access to view and pay their electric bill online.

“The implementation of e-Bill was a positive addition to our customer service strategy. Our customers save both time and money using it as well as help Benton PUD be more cost efficient,” said Chad Bartram, Director of Finance and Business Services.  “This award confirms the hard work that staff dedicated to the project to make it a success.”

New Customer Service Hours

The lobby hours at the Kennewick Benton PUD office will change slightly, starting July 1.  The office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to allow our Customer Service Representatives some time to prepare for the day prior to customer arrivals and inquiries by phone. This will also provide more Representatives at the end of the day for customers, rather than working to prepare for the following day.

Benton PUD offers Phone Pay and Power Pay, available to our customers 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Phone Pay lets you make a payment using our automated payment line.  Call Customer Service at 582-2175 in Kennewick or 786-1841 in Prosser and follow the prompts to pay your bill using a credit card/debit card or withdrawal from your checking or savings account.

Power Pay provides online services by visiting www.bentonpud.org and following the easy, fast steps for payments.  The website is a wealth of information to help answer questions about Benton PUD’s services.

Rest assured, in the case of an outage, Benton PUD will continue to have 24 hour answering service with crews available to take care of the problem immediately.

WANTED:  Conservation Information

Benton PUD Energy Services will be surveying commercial customers to gain a better understanding of our customers needs in conservation. The information from the survey will help Benton PUD develop criteria for future rebate programs, which in turn, will help our customers save energy and lower their electric bills.

When you receive it in the mail, we would greatly appreciate you taking the time to fill it out and send it back to us. The best part - if you complete the survey, you may pick up eight FREE energy saving compact florescent light bulbs at Benton PUD. If you would like, an energy advisor will visit your facility and fill out the survey for you.

We appreciate your participation in the survey as the information gained will provide us valuable background as we design future conservation programs.
