Robert (Bob) Bertsch was appointed
as the new commissioner for Benton PUD, District 3.
The position became open when Bob Graves resigned in
January.
“We were pleased with the number
of qualified applicants we received for the position.
After interviews with each candidate, we felt Bob would
represent Benton PUD customers well,” said Jeff
Hall, Benton PUD Commission president.
Bob Bertsch is president of Ashley-Bertsch
Group, Inc, a construction management company whose
services include all phases of construction from bid
development through project construction and completion.
He is the president of Pasco-Kennewick Rotary and Director
of Community First Bank. He has a B.S. in general studies
from Eastern Oregon State University.
“Bob brings to Benton PUD experience
that will be an added asset to the Benton PUD Commission.
We look forward to working with him on the issues that
impact Benton PUD customers and public power,”
said Commissioner Hall.
Benton PUD, a public power utility,
serves 42,000 customers in the Benton County area. Benton
PUD is direc ted by a three member board of commissioners
elected by citizens of Benton County. Each commissioner
represents a different sector of the county and serves
a six-year term. Mr. Bertsch will serve the remainder
of the vacant term and will be up for election in November
2006.
