Robert (Bob) Bertsch was appointed as the new commissioner for Benton PUD, District 3. The position became open when Bob Graves resigned in January.

“We were pleased with the number of qualified applicants we received for the position. After interviews with each candidate, we felt Bob would represent Benton PUD customers well,” said Jeff Hall, Benton PUD Commission president.

Bob Bertsch is president of Ashley-Bertsch Group, Inc, a construction management company whose services include all phases of construction from bid development through project construction and completion. He is the president of Pasco-Kennewick Rotary and Director of Community First Bank. He has a B.S. in general studies from Eastern Oregon State University.

“Bob brings to Benton PUD experience that will be an added asset to the Benton PUD Commission. We look forward to working with him on the issues that impact Benton PUD customers and public power,” said Commissioner Hall.

Benton PUD, a public power utility, serves 42,000 customers in the Benton County area. Benton PUD is direc ted by a three member board of commissioners elected by citizens of Benton County. Each commissioner represents a different sector of the county and serves a six-year term. Mr. Bertsch will serve the remainder of the vacant term and will be up for election in November 2006.
