Commercial Yard of the Season Award!

The City of Kennewick honored Benton PUD with the Commercial Yard of the Season award. Benton PUD takes pride in keeping the grounds neat and the landscaping healthy so the award is appreciated.

As one of the first businesses that people see when they come into our community on Highway 395, our facilities need to make a positive first impression.  At the same time, we feel it’s important to use cost efficient measures and are careful to conserve water and energy. 

Benton PUD irrigates the grounds early in the morning and in the evening to reduce water wasted due to evaporation during daylight hours.  Sprinklers are adjusted to assure optimum coverage (although windy days tend to cause the spray to hit the sidewalks). Other measures include aerating and proper fertilization for drought conditions to promote growth. 

It’s been 15 years since Benton PUD built and landscaped the facilities in Kennewick.  Thank you, City of Kennewick for the award.
