Power-You can make a difference
As we move forward working with BPA and issues that
impact BPA and our rates, there are times we need your
help. BPA is influenced by Congress and members
of Congress are influenced by voters such as you. That’s
one of the reasons we feel it’s important to
keep you up to date and when appropriate, ask you to
write or email our elected officials or BPA. This
grassroots level of communications helps get our views
and concerns about future electric rates to elected
officials and policy makers at the regional and federal
levels.
Utilities, including Benton PUD, throughout the region
work together on this grassroots network called People
Power. People Power, sponsored by the Northwest
Public Power Association and the Public Power Council,
found that enlisting consumers to help fight for affordable
power from BPA is an effective communications tool.
