Scam Warning
There always seems to be new phone scam and now there
is one that
involves electricity bills. At another utility in the
Seattle area,
customers received calls from someone who sounded official,
stating that
the customer was behind in their bill and if the bill
wasn't paid in
three days, the power would be disconnected. The caller
then gave the
customer the option of taking care of it immediately
with a credit card
in order to fraudulently obtain the customers credit
card number.
Please note: Benton PUD representatives do not call
customers to request
a credit card number. The customer can only use their
credit card if
the customer has initiated the call to Benton PUD.
If you receive a call like this, please contact our
customer service
immediately at 582-2175 or email us at questions@bentonpud.org |
