Benton PUD to implement a temporary rate decrease

Benton PUD customers will receive a rate decrease that will vary from 1 to 4.8 percent depending on the rate class starting November 1, 2005.  Based on a strong financial position, Benton PUD Commission approved a temporary rate decrease to reduce revenues.  The temporary rate decrease will be effective from November through October 31, 2006.

Residential customers will receive a 4.8 percent rate decrease.  The new residential rate will be $0.0654 per kWh, down from $0.0687 per kWh and the base charge will be $9.55 for single-phase down from $10.05 per month.

“We are pleased to give our customers another rate decrease,” said Jeff Hall, Benton PUD Commission president.

The last rate adjustment for Benton PUD customers was a 5.5 percent rate decrease for residential customer class in April 2004.
