Benton PUD Receives Safety Award

At the annual Northwest Public Power Association (NWPPA) Engineering and Operations Conference, Benton PUD received a first place award for the District’s safety record this past year. The NWPPA Safety Award is based on the number of work related injuries or illnesses compared to the number of employee hours worked.  Last year, BPUD employees worked 325,000 hours total and had only four work related injuries.  The category for Benton PUD ranges from 200,000 to 499,999 employee hours worked. There were six other utilities in this category, including four PUD's, one Municipality and two Rural Electric Cooperatives.
