Benton PUD Power Ups for United Way

United Way Campaign has kicked off the 2005 campaign.  Jim Sanders, Benton PUD general manager, is this year’s Campaign Chair so the campaign is fittingly developed around the slogan of Power Up with United Way.

This goal for the 2005 Campaign of $3.9 million reflects a sustained level of giving from last year’s effort.  An important increase is being sought in the number of donors to the local Campaign, improving the giver base from 11,000 to 15,000 contributors.

As a pacesetter for the campaign, Benton PUD started its campaign this summer.  Employees participated in fundraisers and raised over $1,500 in addition to their payroll dedication contributions.  We increased our employee participation by 23%!

The 42 local human service programs supported by the United Way Community Fund function as a safety net for our friends, families and neighbors in need in Benton and Franklin Counties.  The Community Fund is created by pooling individual donations to United Way.  Community volunteers then carefully invest the Fund so that it provides support to meeting specific needs.

Over 200 workplace campaigns occurred last year throughout Benton and Franklin Counties and proudly Benton PUD was one of the top performers for employee participation last year.  With Jim Sanders at the helm of the Campaign, you can count on him to ensure that there will be plenty of opportunities in workplaces throughout the mid-Columbia to learn more about United Way.
