ENERGY STAR® Appliances
- ENERGY STAR® Clothes washers
ENERGY STAR® qualified clothes washers clean clothes using 50% less energy than standard washers. Most ENERGY STAR® qualified washers extract more water from clothes during the spin cycle. This reduces the drying time and saves energy and wear and tear on your clothes.
Rebate: $70 - Heat provided by electric water heater (Clothes washer must have MEF of >1.8)
Rebate: $25 - Heat provided by gas water heater (Clothes washer must have MEF of >1.8)
- ENERGY STAR® Dishwasher (Dishwasher rebate only offered through September 30, 2010)
ENERGY STAR qualified dishwashers use 25% less energy than the federal minimum standard for energy consumption. Because they use less hot water compared to new conventional models, an ENERGY STAR® qualified dishwasher saves about $100 over its lifetime. Rebate: $25
- ENERGY STAR® Refrigerator
ENERGY STAR® qualified refrigerators provide energy savings without sacrificing the features you want. ENERGY STAR® qualified refrigerator models use high efficiency compressors, improved insulation, and more precise temperature and defrost mechanisms to improve energy efficiency. ENERGY STAR® qualified refrigerator models use 40% less energy than the conventional models sold in or before 2001. Rebate: $25
- Water heater
Water heating can account for 14%–25% of the energy consumed in your home. You can reduce your monthly water heating bills by selecting the appropriate water heater for your home. Look for the yellow Energy Guide label that provides an estimate of the product's energy consumption or energy efficiency.
Rebate: $25 - Must be electric, 50 - 80 gallon, Energy Factor ratings as follows: 50 gal =.93, 65 gal =.91, 80 gal =.91
ENERGY STAR® is a government/industry partnership that offers businesses and consumers energy-efficient solutions, making it easy to save money while protecting the environment for future generations. Products with the ENERGY STAR® label means it meets strict energy efficiency guidelines set by the US Environmental Protection Agency and the US Department of Energy.
