You may be asked to pay a deposit when opening an account.
However, customers who have established a satisfactory
payment record with Benton PUD or another utility, or
who have a prior record of prompt payment with the District
may be excluded from the deposit requirement. A satisfactory
payment record is no more than one late notice in the
last 12 month period. If a deposit is required, the
deposit may be refunded when you have established a
record of prompt payment or when you terminate service
with Benton PUD.
