To ensure your safety as well as Benton PUD employees' safety, the State requires all customer-owned equipment and wiring comply with the National Electric Code (NEC), and State or local requirements. An electrical work permit must be obtained and the installation inspected and approved by the State of Washington, Department of Labor and Industries, prior to the installation of service cable and connection by Benton PUD. In addition, some municipalities require new services to be constructed underground. Please check about local requirements before beginning your project.
