The process of installing a new overhead
service to your home is a joint project
between you and Benton PUD. Benton PUD
requests that the following items be completed
prior to connecting your service. Once
these items are complete, Benton PUD will
install your service wire and new meter.
The
items to be completed are:
›
Contact Benton
PUD's Engineering Department at 509-582-1230 to request a
new permanent service. If temporary
service is needed, you may request
it at the same time.
›
Obtain your electrical
work permit from the Washington State
Department of Labor and Industries.
›
Install your new
meter base on the front or within
four feet of the front of the new
structure.
›
Install your service
entrance conductor through your service
mast and leave a minimum of 18 inches
of wire exposed at the weatherhead.
›
Provide a clear
path from your meter base to the nearest
Benton PUD contact point.
›
Obtain your appropriate
electrical inspection.
After the above items
are completed or if clarification is needed on any of the above, please call Benton PUD's Engineering Department at (509)
582-1230. If you have completed the above items, inform the Engineering Deparment that your meter base has been inspected,
and you are ready for your new service.
