Avoid Utility Scams - Utility Scam Awareness Week 2020

November 16-20 is Utility Scam Awareness Week - Be aware of common scams used to prey on utility customers.

Your personal safety is a top priority at Benton PUD.

Throughout the year, we often get reports of scammers demanding payment from our customers and threatening to disconnect their power if payment is not made.

When our staff calls a customer to remind them of a past due balance, we do not demand immediate payment or request payment information over the phone.  If you receive a call and are not sure if it is from Benton PUD, please hang up and call us at 509-582-2175.

If you're unsure if you're passed due on payment, login to SmartHub to check your account.

During Utility Scam Awareness Week, Benton PUD encourages you to become familiar with possible scams that are commonly experienced:Utility_Scam_Awareness_Week_One_Pager.jpg
