Benton PUD Presents Finley School District with $109,508 Check for Energy Efficiency

After a conservation project completed by Finley schools, Benton PUD presented the school district with a rebate check.

On Monday, September 23rd, Benton PUD Commissioner Lori Sanders presented the Finley School District Board a rebate check for $109,508, representing the 0.5 million kilowatt hours or $37,000 saved annually by the Finley School District. The energy savings are credited to an outstanding conservation project that improved both the interior and exterior lighting at Finley Elementary School, Finley Middle School, and River View High School and the district's administrative offices.

Benton PUD's Conservation programs were implemented in 1980 to help us reduce Benton PUD's overall need for power. These savings are passed on to all of our customers, and the project helps us meet the conservation requirements of the Initiative 937, also known as the Energy Independence Act, approved by voters in 2006.

We appreciated working with the Finley School District who took the initiative to do this project.

Thank you to the School Board Members who include: Dawn Senger, Chair; Ken Cox; Vice Chair; Julie Bussell and Tim Goforth.

We would also like to thank Superintendent Lance Hahn and Maintenance & Grounds Supervisor Steve Bennett.
