Each year the Prosser Economic Development Association honors one or more of its contributors that goes above and beyond to demonstrate support and dedication to the economic development of Prosser.  For 2019 both Benton PUD and Benton REA were named Contributors of the Year. 

Benton PUD and Benton REA were honored for their continued commitment and countless volunteer hours dedicated to Prosser's economic vitality.  Most recently those volunteer hours included dedication to the 'Broadband Action Team' whose goal is to partner with stakeholders to find and address gaps in fiber infrastructure to improve delivery and optimize services to future businesses and workforce.  This committee was started prior to the COVID-19 and has become even more important as the community needs have evolved to include a greater emphasis on the necessity of broadband internet for all Prosser citizens.
