Three energy-saving ways to get ready for spring

While they are predicting six more weeks of winter that doesn't mean you can't get ready for spring now.  With a few quick and easy steps you can make your home more energy efficient, saving you energy and money.

1.  Clean up on energy-savings in the kitchen:  Check settings on your refrigerator and water temperature on your dishwasher.  Making small adjustments will allow your appliances to run more efficiently.
2.  Make sure your savings aren't going down the drain:  Install energy efficient shower heads and seal leaky faucets.  Preventing leaks will help not to drain energy savings.
3.  Don't let energy savings escape from your home:  Seal and caulk opening around windows and doors to prevent cooling the outdoors.  Make sure to have your heating and cooling systems serviced and change filter as needed.  A little maintenance helps make sure your savings don't go away.
