New Construction Rebates (apply to site-built homes only)

Heat Pump Water Heaters:  $300 to $600

Split-System Heat Pump Water Heater $800

Heat pump water heaters pull heat from the surrounding air using refrigerant and transfer it to the water in the storage tank and are twice as efficient as conventional electric tank-style water heaters.  They are best installed in a garage, utility room or basement with enough space, at least 1,000 cubic feet (or the equivalent of a 12’x10’x8’ space).  They also require enough clearance to access the filter, which must be cleaned regularly.  Heat pump water heaters release cool, dry air and act like a dehumidifier and therefore require condensation drainage.  They also generate sounds similar to a freezer. Split-System Heat Pump Water Heaters are defined as having a tank inside the house  attached to a compressor outside the house, similar to a central air conditioning system.

Rebates are available for replacement of an electric tank-style water heater in new or existing single family site-built home, and existing manufactured homes.

To apply for a heat pump water heater rebate, please follow these steps:

  1. Select a heat pump water heater.  Qualifying heat pump water heaters can be found here
